What kind of Singaporean you are

Being a true-blooded Singaporean,I sometimes wonder what kind of Singaporean am I. Like
am I geeky? Super kiasu? Or kiasi? Love freebies? Patriotic? Complain King?

What kind of Singaporean are you anyway? Are you like me,who take the mahjong table and double it up as a study table? Study, study, study all day long~
If you are,hi-5!

So anyway, this time round,I'm gonna introduce you this website which I think is more accurate:
http://itsmyturn.sg/

The quiz page will look like this. Go find out "What kind of Singapore you are". There are like 4 main categories such as: Speak, Eat, Play, Do. You know, these are usually the four things that we do in life. And I think it's based on the response given, the percentage is generated.

Example like: What's your favourite singlish phrase?
A. Don't worry,sure can one!
B. How can like that?
C. Relax... Anything also can la...
D. Chope! The sign says you cannot do that!
Mine would be A. Should I say,not surprisingly,Choice A is
Go navigate around the website, and you will find there's a few section such as Reflect. Reflect is a section where fellow Singaporeans pen their stories/thoughts about life in Singapore. Isn't it cool when you found someone who actually share the same habit as you do?!
As for the quiz, there are a few different personalities and I'm excited to find out about mine!
So clickity clickity click...
Apparently I am

Take it easy Singaporean!
I'm like,anything-goes,eat to live sort of person. Do what everyone else does, study and work. When it comes to Chinese New Year, apart from collecting angpao,I'll be like: Let's bring back the tradition! Yet to read about me donning on a cheongsam? Read it here.

Singaporean enough? Yeah!
And on a random note...

I have hazel-brown eyes!
Not photoshopped okay, just that half my face is basking in sunlight,so one eye appeared much lighter than the other. I think a lot of other Singaporeans have brown eyes too. Nice much?! :D

The Singapore Airshow

Hello Darlings!

Remember that I told you how excited I am to go to the Singapore Airshow? Indeed,I went and it was simply MARVELOUS!
It was early in the morning, there were many people due to the airshow opening up for the public to enter. On previous days,it was only opened for schools and traders to enter. But hey, this does not mean you lose out. The public actually gained more because there's the air-showwwww. Ya la,performance la. On previous occasions, people who went in only got a preview of the performance. Now,I'm sure you know the difference between a preview and a performance right?

So anyway,let's go in!
SEEEEEE!
Didn't I tell you that there's a lot of people? Luckily, the place is HUGE. Like super big,a lot of space for people to walk. There were a lot of people crowding at the far front.
Brought my brother along. He's in Aerospace Engineering anyway so I thought I'd bring him along. I think he pretty much enjoyed himself anyway. OH YA. And see that sea of people behind? Told ya! Thank goodness for one9ninety for inviting me here,I was able to go up to the gallery. Better view, less crowded and free drinks!

I arrived just about time for the show to begin. So here's a few photos. The sky was like, blank. Lots of photos that I took can't contrast the planes really well but I tried my best.

"Look,I can go upside down!"
Anyway, they did a lot of stunts like this picture above. And a lot of near-miss,like two planes going against each other and flying upwards at the last minute. You know, those that were always shown in the movies!
This one's from the US air force. It's slow and gentle, purring like a kitty. Unlike the previous ones that roared the sky, flying by really fast. It's one magnificent big plane. Said to be 5 storeys tall, unbelievable!

After that, the sky began to clear up. Can see more of the blue sky now!

These are really quite too! And they are like... Few dots in the sky as compared to the previous planes. Love their formation and they're pretty cool. Here's a gif on another set of planes that flew by. Not very smooth but still!

As the show ended,I went in to see the design and technology of planes. Crowded max but at least the aircon was still cold enough.
See? Singapore Airline's model is the biggest amongst all other models. Without a doubt,I LOVE planes. Would love to have these in my house next time :)

Many private jets were on display. Heard that Jackie Chan's private jet was there too,but it wasn't there anymore when the weekend came.
ALL the tours for Singapore airline was fully booked. Regardless of the timing, people queued and waited for their turn to go in! I'm amazed. Would love to go in though. Sad,I guess I will have to pay a few thousand for a ticket to experience it!

And there are US soldiers walking around,be it from Navy or Airforce. Hey,we don't often see them walking around okay. Or rather,NONE AT ALL! There's no chance other than now,to take a picture with them. Quick quick!
Tadah!
This is the one from Navy, and I like her smile. Their uniform is duh, different from the airforce ones. And I like her smile! I think we seldom see women in the army,so I can't wait to take a picture with them when I see one. There's another one which I feel that her smile seemed so forced, that I don't feel like putting her photo here. See liao also sian. OPPS!

I THINK this guy is probably just some technician or something. But nevertheless, from the army! So...
*ka-chak! ka-chak!*

Somehow, the wind seemed to blow all the clouds here to the Singapore Airshow. Clouds were gathering and turning grey by the minute. So slightly after noon,I decided to to leave. I did very much enjoy my trip here. Quite an eye-opener,if you ask me. So without much further ado,I shall leave you with a more photo.
I LOVE PLANES!

I FINALLY got my bouquet of roses

As I previously ranted,Boy had previously bought me a broccoli for Valentine's Day. If you haven't read it,it's here. I think he must have been turned off because I keep complaining to him how much I abhor broccoli and vegetables. HAHA! So on Saturday....

Tadah!
He said he was bored in Cold Storage. Nothing fanciful, but better than nothing. HEH! I bought flowers to put in his house too. So you can imagine the look of surprise on each other's face when we met up. It's like,I'm carrying one bouquet and he's carrying another one. Ha! So anyway, after meeting up,we headed straight to Chompchomp for dinner.

For the fun of it,they like to act damn gay. And Gernaine baked brownies, damn fantastic yet sinful to the max. She even suggested buying ice cream to top it off. WOAHHHH!

So anyway, simple supper and a round of mahjong.
HOHOHO!

A broccoli for Valentine's Day

Happy belated Valentine's Day to everyone!

I hope all of you had enjoyed your day. Guy or girl; Single or attached, all of you should just go out on this day to celebrate the joy of loving and being loved! How did I celebrate mine? Nothing,it's just a very simple lunch at both our favorite place:
Fish Market!

I woke up at 9am,went to the interchange to get baking ingredients to bake cookies. Damn, there were so many people! I couldn't believe it,on a weekday morning some more! But I guess it's normal, cause most of the crowd were elderlys. So anyway,I couldn't get home in time so I told him that I'm sick,I need to rest for awhile more. Which technically speaking,is true. I had a sore throat! And he offered to come over to my place instead of me travelling out,all the way from the west to the east side! Awww... =D So after that,he realised that I baked him cookies. Okay la,he just say that's very sweet of me. Is he super gan dong? Don't think so,go ask him. HEH!

We went out to eat to sashimi at parkway, and I can't believe it... We head over to Cold Storage and...

He.
Bought.
A.
Broccoli.
Right.
In.
Front.
Of.
Me!!!

Freaking hell. At first I thought he was just joking, cause his friends gave another friend cauliflower as a joke after that friend's performance. You know,Cauli'Flower'. Okay lah.. Performance what. But hello, you gave me a broccoli as a joke on Valentine's day!
Some people ask me why not CauliFlower. He said first of all,he prefers broccoli and second of all,it's more nutritious. In any case... After I went back home and he went back to school for other lessons,I kept thinking about it. And I got more and more pissed. Especially school girls who kept coming into the train carrying mysterious colourful boxes and balloons.
It's actually a good time to report their boxes as 'mysterious' and those stupid balloons as potential threat! Ha. Okay la,I'm not that spiteful or crazy.

In any case,a lot of people were like:
"SERIOUSLY?!"
"If I were you,I would be very angry."
"Okay lah,it's healthy!"

Erm,hello. I am PISSED. But not like I can do anything about it,right? I told him that if it's any other guy,I would take the broccoli and whack his head before walking off. He laughed and said it's all in good fun, plus Valentine's Day don't mean much to him. (Are all engineers like that?!) So okay lor.

The good-loving-me as a girlfriend actually didn't take revenge but googled on Broccoli recipes to cook for him! Of course, that didn't materialise. Cause I don't even eat vegetables. You want me to cook it? *belch* I simply chucked it into the refridgerator.

That night's dinner,mom cooked:
Stir-fried broccoli with shellfish

I still cannot stand it,so I told Boy,the only way to make it up to me is...
Change his status from 'single' to 'in a relationship with Ying Zi'
HOHO! And he was like, bleah! Being a very private person,he did! I knew this is a big step for him and am glad that he did. HEH! About 25 people *like* this status and 11 likes on his side. So I take that as an approval from many of my close friends who's online at the point in time!
Ying Zi ish contented and happyyyyyyyyyyyyy =D

One of the self-shot we taken a long time ago. Shall post a nicer one.

Greenwich Village

Many thanks to OMY,I had been invited to the official opening of Greenwich Village at Seletar Road. Newly built by Far East Organisation, this is a brand new look that is much different from other malls you see around neighbourhood.

So green!
The building uses a lot of natural colours such as green and brown. Not surprisingly, the deco includes lush greenery as well as wood boarding. It's got this nature,laid-back and outdoor kind of ambience which I like very much!

The hosts for the evening were Joe Augustin (Lush 99.5FM) and Vernetta Lopez (Class 95FM)

Cutting of ribbons to officate the opening of Greenwich V.
And the balloons were released to reveal the statues!

A green tree,a pilot and two kids playing. Quite meaningful I think,I love the pilot especially, got this very retro look. Worth a look at the plaque installed below if you happen to be in the area.

~Photo-taking~

After which, everyone proceeded upstairs to the mini carnival!
Earrings were sold. Cheap and cute!

Food and performances mainly garnered most of the crowd. Food is like, totally free flow and DELICIOUS! Some examples of sponsors were Toastbox,Berrylite.
See? This is toastbox and thei famed laksa. Damn yummy and everyone just kept queueing again and again for it.
Not very sure who sponsored this but the food was amazing. There was a super long queue for it.

One of the attractions, someone making balloons for little kids.

Afterwards, there was like a Magic Umbrella Dance which some woman was wearing a traditional costume. Dancing on-stage,she wow-ed the crowd by magically producing one umbrella out of another! No doubt,it really is the Magic Umbrella Dance! Next up would be the drum session which some group of guys performed, beating the drum.

Greenwich V have got shops like Berrylite (yogurt),Cold Storage,Paradise Inn,Cedele,Guardian Pharmacy and Medical Clinic. Not to forget, there's a chinese medical hall too! This mall isn't very big,but it will serve the residents in the area very well. Greenwich V consists of all the basic amenities at the residents' convenience.

Sponsored Advertorial: GAGA-Z!

Sponsored Advertorial
Hello Darlings!

With Valentine's Day coming up,have you decided on what to wear for that day? Or guys, have you decided what to buy for that special girl yet? If you haven't,fear not. I am here to introduce a new shop to everyone, called:

GAGA-Z

Many shops has got only one main supplier from a certain country. Examples would be Hong Kong,Bangkok,Korea or China. Gaga-Z however, have their stocks shipped from almost everywhere! Setted up 4 months ago, this store is brimming with many apparels and clothes. They mainly cater for girls but there are bags where guys can carry too!

As for me,I love shoes. My love for shoes is as deep as the ocean. Come on,there's no reason for a girl not to like shoes! The first thing for me is to check out the shoe section. Check out the different sort of shoes imported:
In a clockwise manner, the first pair of shoes on the top left.
Have you noticed something? Yes! There is nothing at the center portion. I haven't seen this kind of high heels before but after trying it on,I must say it's very comfortable and airy to walk in. It's also the kind of shoe where your feet won't sweat in.
The second pair on the top right hand corner is one sexy pair of wedges.
Alluring with a snake skin-like texture, the wedge is studded with metal bits. DAMN CHIO! It's like damn bling also, wear to a club and you will probably 'bling-ed' everyone else to death. HAHAHA!
The third pair at the bottom right hand corner is my favourite pair.
The wings smack right beside the heels has got blings and so damn shiny can! Not only that, between the platform and the covered portion of the heel is a string of shiny beads. Quite pretty in my opinion.
The fourth pair at the bottom left hand corner
would be what I call,Topshop-inspired kind of shoe. I don't know. What do you think?

These few pair of heels are imported from Japan. I think the most distinctive pair would be the blue one, isn't it? Like what those Japanese girls would doll up in?
For a gaga-ish feel! Outrageous and something that cries "ME!"
RAWR!

Trying on my favourite pair!
Chio right? Better go grab it soon if you like it. As to promote unique-ness,they usually import only 1 or 2 pair of same design. As for this,I think there's only one pair.

Here are the dresses:
A very sweet looking tshirt, matching well with a skirt in the shop.
Party-goers!
This is one that you might wear. Bare-back!

Their fabric are made of good quality. What can I say? They are imported from Hong Kong and Korea, how can they not be soft and nice?!

As the shop caters for people with a different style, here's a contrast of different style:
Urban-ish VS City girl

As for the bags, here's one that guys can bring around:
Big enough for you? Bright enough? I think it looks good.

A few more that you can choose. And there are hats to match too!
And spects!
Of course, they are for you to act cute in. But doesn't mean that you can't bring them to an optician to put the lens in ;)

And one more thing..
TEEHEE!
Opps! I can't help it,I just had to do it! Hehe. What I'm saying here is that they offer cute hair bands too. Having flower clips and a pink rose hair band at home,I particularly like this one!

One more shot. I think I might get this hairband!

They are located at:
Far East Plaza
#03-127B

For more information about them, check out their facebook page!
