Tips to staying positive: Babe and her bottle of Green Tea.

Blog contest part 2(final)

I don't study the IKEA book lah,but that's how I usually look like when I'm studying.

As a student,I would always and still believe that studying is the most stressful thing ever. Or the thing that kills your brain cells the most because of all the mathematics that I have to do. At some point in life, there will be a time where you really wish you could run away and start afresh elsewhere.
But you can't,because you have commitments here.

What to do? Continue to stress myself out and make life seemed bleak?

If you have read my previous post, you would have known that bills(which is a part of your life) are constant reminders that could make you go crazy. Unless you are rich like that guy who lost $100m in the casino of course, then this meagre sum of money would probably mean nothing to you.

How irritating it is for a piece of paper to cause domestic quarrels!

Let me bring you back to that evening:

That evening,Yong Wei actually cycled over to cheer me up with a bottle of drink. Be known, this is not just a normal Ice Lemon Green Tea! As I said before,I'm not a person who can be easily influenced to change my liking for food, especially. I ate my favorite spicy Bak Chor Mee,together with the green tea. Hmmm.. Emotional well-being?
WAY BETTER!

Realising that:
  • A piece of paper is not worth spoiling relationship with family members.
  • The next day is the start of a brand new month.
  • And it's CHILDREN'S DAY!
I made it up by buying a box of tang yuan and of course, green tea back for my mom.
Celebrate the start of a brand new month by study -_- Because it's my end of year exams,it will determine whether I retain or promote.
I can't deny that F&N Green Tea has accompanied me throughout my study period.
PS. The books aren't blank. The lamp is just too bright lah!

Or how F&N Green Tea has influence me to stay positive. And made me smile, even just a little.
Why? POSITIVITEAAAAAAAAA.

When it comes to Children's Day,I'm not a child anymore. Sad,because I won't be getting any presents from my teachers. But hey, there's always a part of us that's a child in heart! I wouldn't feel so upset showing that part of me on children's day....

"Let's play 'Jia Jia' (family game) with these little soft toys!"
Makes me feel happy to imagine the roles of these cute little toys will play. Or maybe just a little too happy....

So you see? These are few little ways that you could stay positive. Even the goodness of F&N Green Tea could cheer you up already. -imagines myself healthier- You can go to the F&N page in facebook and find out more about it! I could mellow in self-pity of why haven't I paid my phone bill. Or I could be positive, which is so much of a better option.

And guess what? Now,getting back my results,I'm so happy that I actually went on to Sec 4! Really,F&N green tea has stayed with me during my study period. Without it,it COULD be a hair ripping experience,or a pleasant study period. What do you think?

AWRIGHT yeah!

And nobody steals MY F&N Green Tea!

NOOOOOOOOO!

Gadget Review: A girl with a phone? She'll never get lost

Gadget Review

Introducing the Garmin Asus A10 which is launched into the market not too long ago. Nowadays, the phone market is SO competitive. Every phone has a standard functions which are calling, smsing and to some of us,data plans such as twitter and facebook. So what makes Garmin Asus A10 stands out?

Forget the fact that it's android, forget the fact that it's so user-friendly that all the buttons are at the right place. I can honestly tell you,it's the map-navigation function!
-shiny eyes-

Why so? I'm a traveler. You can read my past entries. Not trying to be a show off,but I just want to highlight a problem that every traveler face: road navigation. What more,I enjoy traveling alone. But I hate buying maps or having to ask people for directions. Let's take a look into the phone!
This is how the phone looks like.
I didn't put my pictures or anything inside as I don't think I want to take the trouble to synchronize everything. So it's kinda plain, but you can customize it once you got it. Put your finger on the screen and pull upwards, you will get your menu like this:
There's twitter, facebook, youtube, google maps and even weather reports! Those are probably the typical applications that a person like you and me would wanna use. Anything additional application that you wanna use, just download. But don't forget to check the compatibility! Don't worry, you can slide the menu up and down,it's pretty smooth too.

You can pull the menu from side to side too.
See that cute little arrow on the front page? Click on it,and that leads you to this:
1. You will reach a screen that says "Where to?"
You can search the location by typing in the name of the place,a few suggestions will drop down and you can select. View map shows the location that you are currently at. No need to worry about getting lost!

2. Let's go to "Browse places"
From there, you can see points of interest which shows, well, points of interests of course! Anywhere that is near you. Also, you can set your home location or saved locations. So that way,you can always go to the location you used to go from any parts of Singapore.

3. Let's try "Points of Interest"
Inside points of interest, you can search places by spelling. You can even search for the nearest fuel stations, food or even ATM machines!

4. How about "Fuel" for a start?
It directs you to the nearest fuel station. It shows you how far away are you from a fuel station. By clicking the fuel station that you want to head to,another screen will pop up asking you whether you want to travel there by car or foot and it gives an estimation of your arrival time including the speed you are traveling at! I know,I know! It sounds like a multiple choice teleportation but it isn't,it's a high-tech GPS system with Singapore map in-built! For other maps, you should head to the HTC website and purchase one. Like France's map! Hehe!

Take a walk with me,guess where am I:
Yeap,you should be smart enough!

Now,the verdict?
Thanks to Garmin Asus and Yamuna for lending me this phone to review,I had my very first contact with Android phone. It gave me some time away from my blackberry and I think this would be an excellent start first-timers to android phones. Boasting the capability to run smoothly with all the applications, this smart phone also comes with map-navigation! They boast to be the fastest in the world, why shouldn't I believe? Each time I took a wrong turn,it recalculate within 1 minute;or rather,35 seconds! What more can I ask for? It's like a all-in-one for a fantastic price. Speaking of price,A10's retail price with a car kit is $598.
Of course, not all phones are perfect. The only thing I loathe about it is it's battery life. It's not that bad that it runs out every 3-4 hours. But running twitter, facebook and sometimes the GPS? It probably lasts me about 10 hours. I guess all smart phones are like that?

I told my mom about this fantastic phone, but she said NO. How am I gonna convince her this is good for me whenever I travel? I nearly got lost in Paris and London because the place is HUGE. And I don't know where I could eat, take a bus etc. Gee. If all goes well,I am heading to Australia in 3 weeks time. Would this phone help me out? Hmmm...

Sadako(Zhen Zi) takes her virgin trip to Henderson wave.

On a random day, just few days before Mid-autumn festival,I went out with Mel and Don to hang around Vivocity. Just to walk around and have dinner there. Had dinner at Carl's Junior and walk around for Daiso. Wanted to buy a leash for my dog but there were just too many people, geeee.
And we head off to Henderson wave. It's my virgin trip! And Don tricked us into walking much MUCH further than we had to. Not only that,we arrived to find a uber long stair case to climb!

%#$@^#$%@$!%@!%!@$

Anyway. We managed to climb up,and the view was worth the climb I guess.

This is them, just hanging around before we moved further up to another spot.
And I brought my camera along,so we started going crazy and playing with it.
Here's Mel:

And here's Don:

Hmmm.. You know, there seem to be some kind of holy light/aura surrounding him. I told him so and...

I'm holy just like that,my holy light.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!

And here's mine:

Alright, stop the suspense already. Are you ready for Sadako at Henderson wave? Here you go:

Food Review: To eat or not to eat KFC Roasta burger

Food Review

KFC is introducing a new burger in town. Yes,you have seen it stomp. In a positive way. Many gian freebies auntie uncle has tried to grab the suspended burger but phail.com! Hahahaha! Let me now present to you:

KFC ROASTA BURGER

Real one okay! It's not an empty box!
The packaging is an oven. Because the meat of this Roasta Burger really IS cooked using an oven. Traditionally,KFC is thought to be chicken wings and deep-frying. Now,Roasta Burger is here,a healthier choice in KFC. A typical burger with meat, tomatoes and lots of lettuce? Dream on!
Check this out:
  1. They removed all the skin.
  2. Marinated it with their signature sauce.
  3. Put it inside the oven for 7 minutes to let it cook.
  4. Take it out and dip it inside their signature sauce again.
  5. Here's your burger!
Yummy? Yes,definitely.
Juicy? You could say that again!

To show you how it looked like on the inside,I dissected the burger:

Now you know why I said it's juicy? You can totally see the sauce on it!
You can click on it to enlarge. I'm gonna make you crave for it,especially those who are reading this at night! Hahahaha! So what do I think of the taste?

It tastes juicy, and a very mild taste of spiciness. Whenever you finish chewing one mouthful, the sauce just makes you wanna have another bite. Or in other words,it tastes like Pizza Hut's spicy chicken wings, except this one without bones and in form of patty! But it isn't that spicy.

What wasn't suitable for me is that personally,I'm a person who doesn't eat much. So this is slightly big for me. After finish 3/4 of the burger,I don't feel like eating already. Then the chicken and sauce becomes a little too much for me. But for the rest who eat normal meals (yes, you can call me unhealthy) ,this should be fine and definitely worth the bucks.

How about an egg tart as dessert after the meal?
It's damn yummy, freshly baked from oven too. No worries about it being cold, you can even put inside the fridge. It comes out like custard insides. They used the original recipe from Macau. In other words, you can call this the authentic Portuguese egg tarts!
In case you don't know,Roasta Burger will only be on the delivery menu on 19th October. The Roasta Buddy Meal is only until the 23rd November. So hurry! Head down to KFC to enjoy the meal at a better price with your buddy ;)

Say
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....

I could feed ya or you could head down to the nearest KFC and check out the Roasta Buger!

What I would do before I die,PARASKIING!

Paraskiing!

OMFG! Don't you think that this is fucking cool? I wanna do this before I die,or before I get married. Aiya, just wanna do this when I'm still young la! It's so damn cool, you could twirl round and round in the air. And this guy is really damn crazy, you can tell by the way he turn and landing in the CRAZY and MOST impossible routes.

Here's another one:

COOL RIGHT!

Just like some people have some dreams of parachuting, bungie jumping before they die. Mine would be this, totally. After researching,I think I would probably need at least $5000 alone for this. My god,how I wish I am working at the ski resort! For now,I can only wish. Sigh...

A day out to lunch and partying the night out!

I had an enjoyable weekend. Especially Saturday, where I got to meet 2 of my friends who came back from overseas for a short while. One of them was John coming back from Australia, whom I met in the afternoon together with QR and Captain. It's kinda hard to explain how I meet them, but let's just say I have known them through the internet for a couple of years already.

Anyway,I was suppose to meet them at 12.30pm but as usual,my 1 hour late habit never dies. I got there about 2.30pm and I wasn't feeling well. It's the weather, really. 2 extremity, super hot outside and super cold inside. I don't know whether to be glad that I did not bring my jacket out or not. Hmph! And I ended up not skipping lunch.

Met up at Raffles City where they had lunch and we went off to Funan IT mall after I have arrived. That's where John looked around his friend's shop and bought some computer games while the rest look around the store. I took my time listening to someone playing Cristofori next door. Saw the Chinese Orchestra's schedule for 2011,and I was wondering too if I should audition for Singapore Youth Chinese Orchestra. I cannot promise to commit but I can be very passionate in it and commit,if I want to.

I wanted to show them Orchard Central as they all haven't been there. What a pity, isn't it? It's so beautiful and windy up there!

Anyway,QR wasn't feeling too well either,so we just went off to 'The Coffee Connoisseur'.

A couple shots from QR's semi-pro Nikon camera.

This is Captain. And my chio hand.

Captain on the left,my chio chio hand in the middle and John on the right.
Yeah,I have got itchy fingers! It's nice lah,to catch up with one another once in a long long while. Well, soon it's evening and we headed off to do our own stuffs.

I got home and set down some stuffs that Yong Wei had passed. Japanese snacks! Omnomnom. And I dressed up and meet... JESS! She's coming down from KL,met them together with June,Ven and Cheez.

The secret to Japaneses' girls hair

Advertorial

I got a lot busier this year. Dropping some stuffs and picking up some stuffs as life goes on. But personal hygiene is something that everyone,no matter how busy, have to maintain. I got busier but of course,I still have to bath!
Unlike the public transport, you can see oily patches on the windows. YUCKS TO THE MAX! Anyway, back to topic. The bad thing about washing long hair is that you have to wait for it to air-dry if you don't want to damage your hair. Yet if you are rushing, hair dryer is the only option out. And I chose the second option, only to have my hair getting more and more damaged with split ends.

Essential

Damage-Care

Boy,am I glad that I am now being sponsored with their products. I can now haz whole range of Essential to try! I dare not venture far for shampoo because some brands that I tried made me drop a lot of hair. >:(
It is 100% made in Japan and formulated high purity honey & milk protein to deeply repair and strengthen hair. It also has ultra shine hair essence to restore shine to your hair and there's Wild Rose Essence (Nuance Airy) / Sunflower Oil Essence (Rich Premier) to leave protective layer to keep your hair moisturized.

The difference between these two:
Wild Rose Essence (Nuance Airy) gives limp flat hair a bouncy and airy feel.
-boing boing boing-
Sunflower Oil Essence (Rich Premier) gives untamable hair a smooth and mangeable feel.
-wheeeeeeeeeee~-

Left to right
Shampoo is a must,conditioner is a bonus.
Yet Treatment is 2x as powerful as conditioner,to be used once a week!
And then comes the Hair Mask,3x more powerful than Essential Treatment!!
Lastly, the heaven Essential-sent Hair Essence. Daily usage and is the most powderful one!!!

Morning! Every morning when I wake up,my hair is always like that.
No thanks to often blow-dry my hair, which makes it frizzy. Thanks to Essential Rich Premier,it's going to make a miracle of my hair! Let me show you how it's done and the difference:

1. Pump an appropriate amount of lotion onto palm
2. Spread,
3. Apply evenly onto hair!
4. Now see the difference between 2 sides? What a huge contrast! One side smooth, the other side frizzy still. Apply apply, onto to the other side....

Tadah!
Now both sides are no longer frizzy. There is no need to rinse off either!
My hair is much softer,no longer so harsh and dry. I need no worry about having tangles in my hair when I am out and about. In case you didn't know, this Essential Rich Premier Nourishing Care Lotion has no oily feeling after applying. It is suitable for dry, damaged hair and protects your hair from blow-drying/styling damages to your hair!

Whereas the Essential Nuance Airy Anti-Frizz Serum gives an extra shine to your hair end, making it light and airy. A natural bounce and a whiff of fragrance when the wind blows! Definitely catching the attention of every guy ;)

Below is a short .gif picture.

About Hair Ends
- The last 15cm of your hair ends are the oldest; it is 1 year older on average compared to the rest of your hair (for those who have hair longer than shoulder). Hair ends have gone through the most. On average, it has been permed/coloured/rebonded 2.5x more than the hair crown.
Hair Damages
Typically a flat iron or curling tong uses a temperature of 175 degree to style hair – same as the temperature used by clothes dryer to wring out moisture from wet laundry. Females, in general, spend an average of one hour and 53 minutes a week washing, blow drying and styling our hair. That may not sound like a lot, but by the time we reach the age of 65, we will have spent more than seven months of our lives on our hair!
