Bring you to Paris,Notre-Dame Cathedral part 2! :D

Here's the second part of the Notre-Dame

And after this post,I will update a short post about the Eiffel Tower cause there's nothing much to talk about. But anyway, the insides of
Notre-Dame Cathedral

You will see signs asking you to be quiet when you enter the church.
Its not exactly silence in there but at least people are speaking in hush tones. No screaming kids around!

A girl praying for a few minutes.

Okay,I'm a photographer with all the shaky hands and everything. I tried my best without shaking my hands,I didn't have a tripod with me.

Right side of the hall

And tadah! Here's me on the left hand side of the hall, near the exits.

And I got this for myself:

Honestly,I found this church building damn amazing. Seeing pictures doesn't help, you really have gotta come here and stand inside to feel the atmosphere. It's like so holy and peaceful inside, people are inside with their prayers speaking to God.

Bring you to Paris,Notre-Dame Cathedral part 1!

Yes yes, hiatus. So sorry,I have started work already and the only way to communicate with me is twitter and phone. I used less of facebook and msn already!
Let's move on to Paris for now. I'm proud to show one of the main highlights:

Notre-Dame Cathedral

You can click to enlarge it,go ahead. It's no problem at all,I have not resize some of the pictures in this post so that you all can click to enlarge it and see the intricate details of the statues and so on.

Timeline of construction

  • 1160 Maurice de Sully (named Bishop of Paris), orders the original cathedral to be demolished.
  • 1163 Cornerstone laid for Notre Dame de Paris—construction begins.
  • 1182 Apse and choir completed.
  • 1196 Bishop Maurice de Sully dies.
  • c.1200 Work begins on western façade.
  • 1208 Bishop Eudes de Sully dies. Nave vaults nearing completion.
  • 1225 Western façade completed.
  • 1250 Western towers and north rose window completed.
  • c.1245–1260s Transepts remodelled in the Rayonnant style by Jean de Chelles then Pierre de Montreuil
  • 1250–1345 Remaining elements completed
-Notre-Dame on Wikipedia

Anyway, yeap. Kinda amazed that the whole building has been around for nearly 700 years? If you include the beginning the construction,it's really amazing. Living in Singapore,I cannot imagine any monument lasting more than 100 years. Probably because the WWII blasted away most of the things and we don't have TOO much history to talk about. Unless you include Sang Nila Utama.

As you can see from the picture above this, there are 3 entrances which only the left and right can be entered by tourists. This is the left side's entrance. Again,go ahead and click to enlarge.

The following is taken from the middle section of the

And here's the view from the top of the tower:

All the Paris houses. Isn't it wonderful to live right here in Paris?

Here's 2 links that you can see, feels exactly like standing outside Notre-Dame Cathedral:

Pictures of me in Birmingham :D

I'm in Birmingham!

...Well,that was almost a month ago but still,I will blog about what I see there.
Within the first few days since I arrived in Manchester,I quickly took a train to Birmingham to see what I can find there. Well,I was told it's shopping malls around there. Not bad,I need to buy some stuffs back for my friends so shopping is good!

Tired lah,I need to drink something. The weather is quite cold, and you get thirsty easily. By the way, their chocolate chip cream drink over there is SO MUCH BETTER than those in Singapore! Simply marvelous. So here are the pictures, the mall is called Bullring. There's history behind it,go google it.

First half and right-hand side of the mall.

The interior of the mall, the more popular branded stores are at the top storey.

Second part of the mall.

The other half of the mall.

I thought I was about to step out of the exit of the mall, then I realize that what I'm stepping on isn't a car road but a mid-section of a walkway. Yes,opposite of this 'road' is the other half of Bullring. But on my right,I saw this!

Beautiful isn't it? I mean, there's the wind and also the view of houses beyond the church, and the vast sky. Being so tired after walking around some mall, this is definitely a refreshing change.
And here's the rest of the pictures I took while walking in Birmingham.
At least I did not just shop over there.

Some river which I'm not very sure.
It's really big around Birmingham, and I didn't know that there is a museum with a mummy inside!

What are you cheekopeks looking? Sure, mothers do bring babies along to walk around museums. But I'm referring to something like that:

Yeahhhhhhhh. Nice isn't it? Unfortunately,I didn't know until someone brought me there after I'm done with shopping, and told me about it. By then, the museum was closed already.
