Being wet and a day of FUN at Marina Barrage
Just last week back, fellow bloggers asked me out to join them have a picnic at Marina Barrage. It was my first time there and I haven't flown a kite for a longest time. I think the last time I've flown a kite was at east cost beach with my cousins? But then the string broke and the kite flew away. It's okay, let's get on with the picnic and see if the kite flies away this time.

They went to buy a lot of food from carrefour.
But hey,the fondue was brought by Jia Qi. She was sooooooo excited about the picnic that she kept asking everyone to eat and even scoop the chocolate fondue on the biscuits for us! Thank you mama! :p
Dark clouds looming, but it didn't stop us from flying kites!
After that, which they were packing up and told me to sit aside and cover my eyes.
DO NOT PEEP!
Pop! Pop! Pop!
The it's sprayyyyyyy!
Wah lao,you see the expression on Andy's face. Machiam like spray until very shiok hor!
And I ran of course!
Now we know who's the one spraying,I will get back at you guys de.
Just you wait,I will be back!
And the weather was pretty funny,it rained soon after I got rid of those spray stuffs. We packed up and took shelter indoors. But after awhile,it stopped raining. So we went out to do out jump shot.
And the evening rain had everyone going downstairs. Which the sky turned dark soon after.

Be mindful that these 2 shots were the last 2 photos.
What happened next was:
I was trying to take photos with Andy and Weijie, which Weijie is going to NS.
Before Jing Long could actually click the the shutter button, the 2 of them carried me up and threw me into the water. Great. Fun-tastic.

I think they just simple threw me in countless of times already.
Evil,you guys are just evil!
I'm not going to just get myself wet,so I dragged the rest of them down too. Everyone got wet except for Li Mei and Jing Long cause he's the photographer! We tried coaxing him to put down his baby camera, but it didn't convinced him though. The camera is his amulet of protection, seriously.
Finally,I get to take my picture with that 2 who threw me into the water.
But not without Jinglong and Mel jumping across the first 2 shots.

DONE. FINALLY!
And here are the polaroid pictures taken, both polaroid brought by Jia Qi and Joyce.
Jia qi has a reallyyyyyyyy antique polaroid, but it worked perfectly well.

Know why are we called The Cousins?
Don't you think we all together for the very cousin-y feel? Haha!
And being the birthday girl, wearing white definitely doesn't help prevent you from getting thrown into the water. We can't help grinning while we sat at Astons in Suntec to have our dinner, soaked through. And this is where my present arrived,as you can see from the previous post.
I'm happy that day.
That I can't help smiling while the wind blew in the sunset.

Receiving Swarovski on my birthday.
I'm quite busy with exams now,so just a short update on my present.
I can only update the outing pictures on my birthday in the next post.
I only received 1 present, perhaps we all don't have the tendency to give gifts anymore. But this gift is enough, for I'm really happy after waiting for so long to have this.
Give it a guess,what's inside?

Isn't it pretty? I have been waiting for so long,since 2008 !
I even bought a fake lookalike one from Korea but it was spoiled recently. I was quite upset though, but not anymore!
I'm feel so blessed,I'm happy..

Malaysia got pork lah.
Here's the KL trip photos that I took at the start of May.
Jackie introduced me this duck rice place before,so this time round,it's time to bring weijie there to try the food! It really is delicious, for there not only have duck meat, there's char siew!
Heard that this place is quite famous for the duck and you have to get here early,or otherwise it'll be sold out soon.
Chicken and Char Siew side by side.
Looks yummy isn't it?
See? Don't this look yummy? And covered in oil, tender flesh...

Stop looking at the pork!
Huh? You more interested in the Char siew ah?
Looks yummy also right? Okay lah.
Okay,it looks oily but I can swear it fucking delicious.
I know some people may be scared to eat the fats. But THAT is even more YUMMY okay!
It's like, when you chew downnnnnnnn. Then you can feel the meat, not crumbling but like a jelly sinking under the weight of your teeth. The flavour that just bursts out,the oil that enhance its taste.

As usual,us bloggers will always take pictures of our food before we eat.
Feels like our prayers instead.
But nevertheless,it was really an enjoyable lunch we had after singing k at Redbox in Midvalley.
Some day,I shall head there to shop!
How about the food on Day 1? Here you go:
Some sort of healthy Taiwan dessert.
The shop's name is called Snowflake. Some sago stuffs that I don't eat. Yuck!
Can you see the freaking huge cup of Mango ice blend? Goodness, damn huge.
As for me,I order a similarly huge(I can and did finish it!) Mango fruit juice. Which is something like the one we had in Bugis street. That one in Bugis street is $2,here for such a HUGE glass without much ice in it,it's only 5rm! Cheap boh? Happy happy! To drink that mango fruit juice lah.
Before I end this post, let me show you this:
It is so different from what we had in Singapore. MORE sauce,MORE veggie (yuck),everything MORE!
The...

FAMOUS RAMLY BURGER IN MALAYSIA.
Weijie bought beef,so I can't sneak a bite on it.

My Curry Chicken noodle = curry spa for cockroaches
While Weijie and I was at KL
our friends on that side was kind enough to play host and brought us around KL eating good food. Before I even mention the rest of the wonderful makan places that they brought to,let me highlight this place to you. Its really wonderful.
After playing several rounds of pool, they drove us to some place which literally translated as:
100 year old street.
I forgot the malay name for it,but hey, look at our happy faces at the thought of eating dinner.
Mel,Samantha,Weijie,Me,jackie
Victoria,Sam and xiang not in picture
Happy?
Yes,quite happy.
BUT.
That was before our food came. Jackie's rojak, unfortunately was served late as they had forgotten his order. Until we reminded them. As the rest of us,we ate curry noodle and cha kuey tiao etc. I ordered a cup of warm water as I was having a bad cough.
As a slow eater, which my friends knew and are always frustrated having to wait for me to finish my food, the rest had finished theirs by the time I was halfway through my food. All I could think of is:
Finish this,Ying Zi,finish it!
I do waste my food somtimes, but however if I were to finish my food,I have a great sense of satisfaction.
Taking a break to swallow,I picked my chopstick. And this is when I saw secret ingredient of the noodle. Which suspiciously looked like...
Honestly, please don't tell me you still don't know what is this.
A FUCKING COCKROACH...
leg la... You honestly think that I found the WHOLE cockroach inside my food?
That would have been YUCK YUCK YUCK to the max!
Anyways,yes. The cockroach leg:
Cannot be just 1 cockroach fall in mah. You think the cockroach have nothing better to do than to break off one of its legs and throw it into the pot? No la,the whole cockroach must have fell in and the leg broke off. I can't imagine the person stirring the cockroach round and round the pot.
The cockroach must have felt like being in a curry-flavoured washing machine.
You know, initially I thought it was a spice. Because there are some spices which looked like that. But I forgot what is it called. I looked closely before exclaiming out to them. And I scooped it out and let the waiter see. Oh boy,the waiter was rude to us too.
The way he took it from me? Tsk tsk tsk, rude.
I think his colleague let an embarrassed laugh out and took the whole thing piece of tissue
WITH THE COCKROACH LEG back to us and started explaining in cantonese. Okay,I don't understand but what I had in mind was to cancel my order. I don't wanna eat anymore. But Victoria explained to me that he said:
We will cancel everyone's food.
You all only have to pay for the drinks.
I was surprised, and had her to confirm what he said. And yes, only drinks counted. The waiter asked if I would like any replacement of food FOR FREEEEEEEEEEE but I said no thanks. I don't feel hungry anymore. And most of my friends had already finished their food and drink,so I didn't order anymore drinks. Neither do I wanna stay on.
YAY! Everyone had a free but somewhat disgusted meal thanks to me.
I don't even know whether I should be happy or disgusted by the whole idea.
Then again,I think I should have exclaimed the cockroach leg in my food outloud.
Then, everyone in there would have been thoroughly disgusted and their food would be free too.

Happy Birthday & Mother's day to you,Mummy!
Happy birthday Mummy!
Oh yes,and happy mother's day to all mothers out there.
As one of the plans I did for this month,I brought my mom to the riverboat to eat. There were many plans that failed along the way. Example would be to decorate a cake at The Icing Room located at Compass Point. But there simply is WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE.
Not only that, the size of the cake run out already. So there really really must have been WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE.
Also, the china lady at the counter was pretty rude,I remembered her asking me this: Do you want a chocolate vanilla or vanilla chocolate? Sheesh, darling, isn't both the same? If you can't speak English, you can always talk to me in Chinese. I'm a Singaporean who understands both language. Pardon her rudeness to me,there simply is WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE.
I have to wait 40min for the next batch of cake, which time is not a luxury that I can afford. So I went to get a more delicious cake from BreadTalk instead, nicely decorated with delicious chocolate mousse and cream and candles for the same price and size of the cake at The Icing Room.

Pictures for reference to the size of the cakeBy the way, they don't accept nets.
So please withdraw money before queuing,otherwise you'll face long queue >rejected >withdraw $ >no cake,please wait for 40min
thank you very much.
Anywayssssssss. I made a reservation for 3 at the Riverboat which Kai Zhi brought me to last year during New Year's eve. I remember the food as excellent American-Mexican buffet. It's about $40 per person. Supposedly to reach at 7,get my bro to bring mom over and surprise her. However,my mom was eating the dinner halfway at home because my brother didn't tell her where we going. ZzzzZZZzzzZZzzZzZZZZzz. And then,I took the wrong bus(400) to Marina Barrage instead of South Pier. So I spent half an hour waiting for a non-existent cab. Until I finally dialed for one. AND THEN. My mom and brother are already on the bus in front of me. After I alighted the cab (btw, the uncle cheated me of $1. He's suppose to return me $6,not $5) ,I quickly ran before they could see me.
Breathing heavily,I tried to look calm as my brother and mom entered the restaurant.
Tadah,surprise!
And then, here comes the disappointment. It wasn't the kind of buffet which I had last year,so yummy. But it was the free-flow dishes that we could order. Still, the food is good I have to say.
Chicken, kind tough to cut but mash potato is yummy
Oh oh,this is delicious and crispy!
Don't know what's this,but not nice one
Morzerella Cheese Sticks,my favorite of all
Original Nachos with Jalapenos. Yums. These are the few dishes that we ordered. And boy, mummy is so happy! The cake came up last, the boss was good enough to sing the happy birthday song with us. They do have good service, friendly staffs.

Ummm... I know it's suppose to be mom's birthday, but she fork out the money for the bill. There was a promotion going on,so her's was $10 lesser than ours. But still, she was so happy that she kept the receipt.
And the cake's receipt.

Unfortunately, the scenery wasn't as nice as I remembered last time.In fact,I think I had placed way too high expectations over here. But its okay, after all. Mom did enjoy the whole dinner here. And dad came to fetch us as it was pretty late already.
Happy birthday and Mother's day to you, mummy!Thank you for everything.
Thank you for giving me the best 16th birthday present that I could have ever gotten, the dinners that you would rush home from work to make for brother and I,and for supporting the family. Also, for doting on me so much despite me being bad-tempered daughter.
Mummy,I love you.
PS. Please show her this post if I were to suddenly die one day, because I never said all these to her in real life. It's so mushy =x

FLY from London,imported shoes.
I'm really sorry for the lack of updates.
As you saw my schedule in the earlier post,I'm very busy this month. I just had my English and social studies test earlier on today. And I will be heading out later. If you ask me I have confidence or not,I believe I have. But confidence isn't enough,I gotta work hard too.
I was asked to describe the supermarket in my neighbourhood and guess what I wrote? Description of the aisles of food, yummy yummy food! Is that correct? If it's wrong,I'm really doomed because that is all that I have wrote.

Oh yes, this is the pair of shoes which I bought before I went KL.
I totally love this pair of shoes,it's imported from London. The brand's name is called FLY. Not heard of in Singapore, but pretty well-known over there. Not sure, you can try googling it. It comes in dark red and black, but I got this dark brown instead. More vintage feel in it.
I can't wait to wear it,if my trip to overseas is confirmed.
You can laugh at me,that I'm happy so happy over this pair of shoes. My very first pair of the year. Or is the the first shopping item that I bought? Hmmm. I do love them,I was shocked to hear the clomp clomp clomp sounds that I made when wearing them, sounded more like I'm wearing boots! But they are pretty light,so hearing those sounds caught me by surprise.
Tell me that it's pretty, that makes me a happy little girl! :D
