Branded goods VS Imitation goods = Branded wins!

Sigh,such a boring day.
Bored bored bored. Let me fill you in with boring details.

My wallet's zip was spoilt. It's been like, only 1 year? I bought a fake Gucci wallet from Malaysia,it costs only $15! Cheap right? I was happy and contented using it until I found the next wallet to change. Then, this thang's zip can't be closed anymore! Damn, things will fall out lor. No choice, using back my Elle wallet that I bought for $150. Hey,at least real stuffs doesn't spoil. I bought it for 3 years already, used it for 2 years and still haven't spoil okay!

Using back this wallet. White,I think it suits me better than any other colors.

Same goes to watches, you seriously think a $5 can last you how long? And its ugly lor. Okay, maybe for $10 you can get a better looking one but there's no way it can last that long. And no warranty too!

Pink DKNY watch

This is given to me by my ex,$350 I think. Had it for 2 years already. Speaking of which,I think the warranty is about to be finished soon. I don't have to change the battery, cause it's just that lasting! But I think I better do it before the warranty ends.

I suppose it's just a personal preference. Maybe you like to buy cheap stuffs, change many times. But I prefer my things not to spoil. It's still money after all,buy something that is more lasting what!
Love my watch! But not the person who gave it to me of course.
The story of this watch is damn funny. I want a chio bling bling hello kitty watch, not the kiddish kind. He took one look at it and say it's too childish. And proceeded to drag me to buy this watch instead.

Anyway,on Friday was the day that I headed to Andy's house for Mahjong. The day was so unlucky that I didn't feel like going to play, scared lose money what!

Firstly: My wallet spoil, the very first entrance to money-losing!
Secondly: I walked past a funeral site and the people there are doing the funeral rites.
Thirdly: Shortly after I got on the bus to go Andy's house, the bus got bang by a stupid van.

Wah lao eh,I PRAYED before I came out of the house leh!!!

STUPID VAN make me late. Van VS Bus,of course the bus win right? Lucky for me that I wasn't sitting at the lower deck, which I previously wanted to cause easier to get off. Now I thank my lucky stars that I wasn't at the lower deck. No casualties. But the impact caused a sudden jerk,it could have been worser if I was below.

I got off the bus and called WeiJie to tell him that I don't feel like going already. Poor him, nearly blew up at the interchange. He told me not to play, just visit house will do. Then okay lor, just go. After I alight and before I reached Andy's house,I went to do something to try warding off the bad luck. Shan't tell you what it is,and it's not praying either. Besides,I'm itching to play don't wanna lose money!

Anyways,at the very end,I won the most money!
FML though, the rules set by the host was that no matter how many tai it is,we just have to pay $0.50. Zi mo(self-touch) no extra, yao(animals bite) and gang(4 tiles) is $0.10. No kick lor. But you lose and win very little also.

Yayness!
This is a partial farewell gathering for Mel as well as he'll going to China for 6 weeks!
1.2.3.4.5.6 whole weeks! Wow,sexaye,we'll all miss you!

Look how cute the Ang Pao that Andy's mom gave,MEOW!

ZA Product Launch: Whitening serum for girls!

Whitening tips for ladies

Yoohoo people!
Most of us have been trying to search for a perfect whitening serum for our face. Some more you know lah,Singapore so hot. You want to be among the ones who cake their face with thick foundation just to look fairer and then sweat all the way like a pig? No!

Thanks to June for bringing me to the ZA workshop,I got to know a new product which will be in market soon.

1st: Cleansing foam
2nd: Prismizer

3rd: Emulsion

4th: True White Cream

In the room, each seat is being set up with the following items below:

Cleanser in the process of cleaning our face, clips for our hair and brushes for make up use at the hands session.

Let's introduce you the products, the very 4 steps for a clearer skin!
1. Clarify
Cleansing: Purifies skin by removing dead skin surface cells that block the skin's prism structure
2.Refine
Prismizer: Smoothen and texturize skin to restore the skin's prism structure so that light is reflected from a smooth surface.
3. Polish
ZA White Plus Cream: Add a luster finish to skin and enables it to glow. from within by perfecting the prism structure deep within and on the surface.

See how this little thing can turn into a mask? Unbelievable!

A few drops of water can expand this little thing into a mask and piak on your face.

I shan't show you how unglam I look in the mask, but after which we apply the ZA White Plus Cream,I do feel my skin so much softer. The room's lighting is pretty bright,so I cannot really tell if it works. However, after I went home to see the mirror,I can truly tell the effect.

My face has a soft glow, unlike the usual dull skin. Okay, this may see so much like a cliche advertisement line but it's true. I know my facial skin tone was never good, but if I use it once and can see the effect already, what about using it for a month?! Wow,then I can have translucent healthy skin. Imagine walking around the streets and let other girls be mad jealous of me.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Don't rush to the store yet to grab one! It is only out in stores on:

25th March 2010

Till then, you can be jealous of me with translucent skin first!

Spending my CNY with the people that I love most.

Time for some updates again!
I suppose most of you are going off to collect ang paos as well rather than sitting here reading my blog. Even if it's not visiting relatives, you guys must be playing blackjack too. Hah! Here's my cny dinner with the bloggers. I'm so happy, everyone came and it's been like years since such a big crowd came to my house. Maybe I should organize it every year, what do you think? ;)

We had this one week before Chinese New Year, and to add more cny spirit to this steamboat gathering,Andy bought the Yu Sheng!

Look at the amount of food, they're here to help me prepare before the rest come over.

Lindsey eating her food -nom nom nom-

Yu Sheng.

The one who bought this Yu Sheng is the one who smiled the happiest in the photo above.

Before...

After!

The end result? I love Yu Sheng :)
Thanks guys, for coming over to my place. I really had a good time myself, hope you all did too!

Bai Nian number 2

Went to my Guzheng teacher's house to Bai Nian with my primary school close friends. Up to date, she has taught us for 10 years already. How time flies! In a sense, she is like our mother. I brought my Guzheng diploma to show her,got a feeling that I did her proud.

We sat down on her dining table and chatted for a bit, catch up with the old times and she enquired about everyone's well-being. Then we all went into her room and played Guzheng, guess what we found?
She framed up our SYF photo. Gosh, this is like... 6 years ago? Shows that she love us so much, because even though the batch 2 years ago got Gold with honour, she only framed this one up! Teehee!
We asked her to play a song for us,but much to our disappointment, she declined. Her arm was hurt from carrying too much guzheng in school and she had been going for acupuncture for the past few years.
Love you,Zhang Lao Shi!

Bai Nian number 3
Mel's place!
Can you imagine? I travelled from one end of the island to the other end. And I missed my own family's reunion dinner. Guess it's all worth it when all of us are having a good time.
EVEN THOUGHT I LOST IN MAHJONG!
Playing $0.20-$0.40,I suppose losing one round of $5.60 and another round of $1.50 is considered okay. Weijie lost $17!

Bai Nian Number 4
SPI had a gathering at Changi where we ate pizzas and did our Lo-Hei. Among the people,Kenny was back from Hong Kong and John was back from Australia. They'll be going back soon :(

By the way,

I LOVE YU SHENG!

They are so yummy, though it's all veggies. I don't mind having a bit of this for my 3 meals for my entire life. Yes,this is how much I love Yu Sheng. Some people say that it's too sweet,or sour. But I like that way it is,just nice :)

Alright,just kidding.

This is one of the few gift-concept stores found in The Cathay. They sell sweet and intricate items, not just for girls but for guys as well! It's very easy to find stuffs for girls, but few caters for guys. So this is the shop! They have T-Shirts,accessories,journals and even musical boxes! If you still cannot find something for your boyfriend or male friends, why not head on to :

ROFF
Ties & Cuffs

There are all sorts of ties available in many colors. Ranging from the colorful ones to the plain ones, there's also the strip ones to the glitter ones. Whether you want to buy it Halloween or weddings, here's the place you can try. Not only it's not crowded, the prices are affordable too!

And who says girls can't wear tie either?
Let me show you how:

See? It's so easy!
And did I tell about the cuffs? My future boyfriend must wear this on his sleeves in future to show that he belongs to me,me and ME only!

And I think the cutest ones are probably these!
Mahjong Tiles!

Don't play play okay,I'm about to win already. Finally after so many years of 'paying school fees',I can finally win! There's no way that you will be able to beat me. Because I have got all the winning tiles up in my sleeves cuffs!
(dong) (nan) 西(xi) (bei) 红中(hong zhong) 青发(qing fa)

Think that all Cathay has is gift stores & gift stores & gift stores? Getting about reading gift stores?
Fret not, let's move on to :

Clique is an eclectic lifestyle retail store that focuses on high-end living. As I myself love luxury(like who doesn't?!),I particularly like this lifestyle store. Their motto is to spend more, live more.
I believe it is simple enough for you to understand, spending a bit more live in luxury. Books on lifestyle,CDs,home decoration items and unique chairs:

This chair takes 200 hundred hours to make and look at each tiny piece that has been delicately pasted in. No,the handbag is not mine either. I look so matching with the chair, see how much it suits me? Buy for me! A whooping $2,700 for this chair! And guess what else I found?

Yes!
Sexy undergarments! Unexpected, isn't it? I choose red as it's the most striking one. There are other colors too. It's interesting how they actually bother to put it this way so people can see what it is like when worn.

I'm feeling a little thirsty from all the talking, shall we head off for dinner now? Where would you suggest? Let's not talk about Astons',where you probably have to wait very long before you can get a seat? If you were to ask me,I would say...

BILLY BOMBERS!

I really love this place a lot,it's like the rock 'n' roll days in the 40s,old American style with all the famous celebrities like Marilyn Monroe in the good ol' days. Enjoy an authentic American meal while listening to the oldies. Even the chairs are the classic ones!

My ex-boyfriend and I used to come here to Cathay to eat Billy Bombers all the time before catching a movie. I'm not joking! We would order the ribs, root beer float and share a Party Platter. Hence, this place holds a lot of special memories for me. Today,I shall just introduce you the Root Beer float and USA Party Platter,as can be seen in the above pictures.

I believe, that is all for today. We shall end this post with a bit of history on the The Cathay. The Cathay is not just any new malls built like Somerset 313 or Orchard ION?
Since 1935,this building actually holds a sentimental value to many of the older generations of Singaporeans. We have to thank:
Dato Loke Wan Tho

Designed by Frank Brewer,it housed Singapore's first air-conditioned cinema, lavish apartments, a sophisticated restaurant and a hotel. The cinema itself was already an icon back then. The history of this place is more than 70 years and was closed for renovations in 2000,then opened in 2006 with a makeover to its interior: First-class retail experience (as can be seen at the above post) & top-of-the-line cinematic enjoyment (an icon which we remembered always). Though renovated, they still maintained the first part of the building which was recognized in the old photos of the building as well. Unbelievable huh? ;)

Ever tried having a picnic at Lim Chu Kang Cemetery?

I am so pissed off that my dentist promised me that I could come on Sunday to put my braces and didn't give me a Sunday slot. But never mind, shall rant about that another day. Yes,now you're reading it. Where did I go for picnic on sunday?

East Coast?
Nope.

West Coast?
Nope.

Punggol?
No,not that either.

Give up?

It's at the...

CEMETERY!

Yes,that afternoon,I went to meet Weijie, Daniel and Amanda at Chua Choa Kang MRT. Eevon had to leave, can you imagine?! The organizers didn't turn up! I was shocked of course, definitely;that there's only going to be 4 of us. But I was determined as well that this must not be a wasted trip. Hardly do I come to the west side,so off to Lim Chu Kang Cemetery!

Some asked,why cemetery?
I asked the same too. But it's purely cheap thrill, you'll never imagine having a picnic there right? I expect the day to be hot. But it wasn't. Keep an open mind,I'm sure you'll find it serene there.
I even wore white that day. White top, white skirt.
Amanda said that what I lack of is a bunch of flowers.
Daniel brought the mat that we're sitting on,it's such a nice picnic! It is pretty windy. We took 172 from the interchange and alighted outside the Christian Cemetery before walking over to the Chinese one. There were some foreign workers there playing criket. We just place our mats and open up the food that we brought.

Pandan cake brought by Daniel,
Pies from Pie Kia bought by Eevon, who left before she even reached the cemetery.
Wei Jie bought Lemon tea & Green tea.
Handmade sandwiches! Betcha didn't think it was made by the photographer of the day:
Amanda!

My bestie! Gosh,I look fat. FML. Like the rays from the sun? There's more..

The whole place is so vast, and it's a windy + over-cloudy day. The wind is blowing,it's so relaxing. Put your mind at ease, you'll feel peace. Picnic among the tombstones, there's nothing to fear. We thought of packing up as the clouds were moving moving really quickly. But luckily it's moving sideways rather than towards us. But nevertheless,we ate and finished up the drinks before packing up to explore the area.

Other than walking on this road, what can we do?

I am wonder woman!
While it's getting really late, we all walked towards the bus stop. The whole place was not scary at all,no goose-bumps or anything. A couple cars of families drove in to pay their respects to their ancestors. It's quiet, and serene. You can feel the wind blowing your hair. So peaceful.

I was looking over the countless graves when she took this shot.

It was meant to be a normal picnic, but I can't help wondering about my life paths too. I said to her that I cannot face rejections. Sometimes, the fear of rejection is what stopped me from doing things. She looked at me in the eye and said,
would you rather people let you down or you let yourself down?
That strike a bell in me.

My faith in pursuing a diploma in Psychology was faltering,I felt lost. But she gave me the courage that I needed. She told me about her pursuit as well. That day,I found a friend. Amanda.
Each day,the sun sets in a different way. That day,was one of the most beautiful sunset that I have ever seen.
